Property Tax Hikes

You would have recently received your Final 2026 Tax Notice. Are you noticing that your Property Tax bill is getting bigger and bigger every year? The majority of our current Council has not been shy when it comes to increasing the Tiny Township portion of the increases over the past 4 years of their term! Check out the chart right:

Tiny Township’s portion (Municipal Levy) on your tax bill has increased 35.13% compounded over the past 4 years compared to Simcoe County’s portion at 15.12% and NO increase to the Education Levy. These are the true increases versus the Blended Rate that is always ‘advertised’. And how are these increases in comparison to inflation? See for yourself:

These numbers deserve attention. You will quickly notice that the majority of our current Council supported a large Tax increase annually well in excess of inflation in comparison to the previously elected council.

2026 Elections: Make Your Voice Heard!

Which leads us to a very crucial year in Tiny politics! What is your position on the performance of the current term Council? Are you content with the drastic property tax increases annually? Are you content on the cost of the New Administration Building? Are you happy with the 45 meter Shoreline setback restriction? Is speeding being controlled to your satisfaction? Is spring flooding being addressed on your street? Are your tax dollars being spent wisely? These are not abstract issues; they affect value, enjoyment and future of our properties. This is the year to pay attention, where you can make your voice heard to vote in a Council and Mayor that you feel will listen to and be accountable to the taxpayers that they work for!
