Announcing our Blue Jay Ticket Winners!

We are excited to announce that Janet and Vaughan Prevette of 1205 Tiny Beaches Road North are our lucky winners of the 4 Blue Jay Tickets to the September 12th game versus the Baltimore Orioles! The Prevette/Greig family has been residents of our LASHA community for over 55 years! With the Jays in the middle of the Wild Card, this will make for an exciting game on the road to the World Series. Congrats Janet and Vaughan!

As stated earlier in this newsletter, we at LASHA will always try to cut through all the Election misinformation that is being communicated in various medias… it really is disappointing at times. But on a very positive note for the LASHA community, we are blessed with having two strong Mayoral candidates who actually reside permanently in our area!

We at LASHA have had the pleasure of working with Chuck Stradling over the past 11 years as the Past President of LASHA. Chuck owns an strong knowledge of the past activities of Tiny Council from years of attending meetings and writing concise summaries of the meetings which you will have seen in the Tiny Cottager newsletters. Dave Brunelle has demonstrated over the past 4 years that he genuinely represents the people of Tiny. Dave was the only council member challenging the current council in their very unpopular decisions on the Tiny Administration Building, the Shoreline Bylaw, the Goessman lot issues, the purchase of the Champlain beachfront lots, and increased tax burden (35% increase!!) that have been placed in the pockets of Tiny residents! Both Chuck and Dave will be personally attending and presenting at the LASHA AGM on October 10th! Please plan to attend and meet these excellent candidates to represent the needs of TINY and LASHA!!

You Need to Register to Vote!

This year for the first time ever Tiny Township will be utilizing Internet and Telephone Voting ONLY (you will not be able to go to a polling station and utilize paper ballots!)

On a positive note, as the vote is completely digital, the voting period will be open 24/7 for two full weeks starting Tuesday, October 13th @ 10am and ending on Election Day Monday, October 26th @ 8pm.

The most important first step is to ensure that you are registered. Even if you have voted in the past, you need to still check your status. Don’t lose your voice! Please take a few minutes to check your status and update your information by visiting the Voters Services Tool https://www.tiny.ca/elections/online-voter-services-tool on the Tiny Township Website up until October 12th. After this date, eligible voters can still come to the Township Offices in person to register to vote up to and including election day October 26th with valid ID.

If your primary residence is outside of Tiny Township (e.g. Toronto), you can register your Tiny residence as well, and vote in both jurisdictions! If you need additional assistance to add your secondary Tiny residence, please contact Tina Arbuckle at the Tiny Township office (705) 526 4204.

At the end of September, every resident who has properly registered on the Voter’s List will receive a Voter Instruction Letter in the mailbox. In this Letter you will receive a secure PIN code with clear instructions on how to vote via the official voting website or the toll-free phone number. After entering the PIN Code, and your date of birth, just follow the prompts to vote for the next Tiny Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councilors.

If you do not have access to a computer with internet access, during the 14-day election period, you can visit the Tiny Township offices in person at 130 Balm Beach Road. The Township will be fully staffed to help you to securely cast your votes via computer or phone!

We continue to receive very positive comments on our permanent Welcome sign at the top of the 16th concession. We continually try to keep our flags up to date with seasonality and ensure the sign is lighted at night. You may have even noticed the planting of wildflowers at its base this year! Take notice as you drive by!
